Board Games Evening, 28th February 2019

Our board games events in Liverpool have been well attended and great fun, so it's time to start up a new venture in Manchester!

Port street Beer House, Manchester, 19:00, Thursday 28th February 2019

I'll have a small selection of board and card games with me, but it would help if you brought along your favourites too. Don't worry, no prior knowledge is assumed, so if your experience doesn't extend far past Scrabble, there will be someone to explain the rules.

Board games have proven to be a great way to get to know people, check out our blog for a write-up on some previous events.

Port Street Beer House is an old-fashioned pub in a modern setting, with a large upstairs area which is usually fairly quiet on a weekday. We'll meet up here - look out for a pile of board games, and the Mensa logo. There is an extensive selection of craft beers, some at eye-wateringly high ABV values! There is also a good selection of other drinks and a good variety of spirits too.
While the food selection is not huge, there is a range of pies made by Beehive foods, a company local to Manchester, and some other traditional pub snacks.

The pub is in Manchester's Northern Quarter, within 10 minutes' walk from Shudehill tram stop and bus interchange, Picadilly Gardens or Picadilly station, and 15 minutes' walk from Manchester Victoria. If you're arriving by car, there are numerous NCP-type car parks, or free parking can be found near Carnarvon street, north of Manchester Victoria. On-street parking nearby is available but limited, although it is free after 8pm.

If you get lost

On the day, call me on 07809168940 if you're lost. Feel free to send me a message beforehand too, if you're a newcomer, or need any more info.

We also always keep a close eye on our Telegram group and the Facebook event during all our events, so if you're lost or running late, you can get in touch with us there - and it's a great place to chat with us when we aren't running events, too.
