IndieFlicks - Intercity!, 1st August 2018

IndieFlicks is an event showcasing short films from around the world, with a chance to vote on your favourite, and have questions answered by the film makers. This is one of a regular set of events which have been very popular so far, and have started some interesting discussions between the attending Mensans.

We host this regularly in Manchester and are now expanding to link up with London and Sheffield - simultaneously in all three cities!

IndieFlicks, 19:30, 1st of August 2018

Arrive a little early to get a drink and find good seats before the films start! Afterwards each city's group will continue to a nearby bar to discuss the films over a few drinks. Opinions on the films frequently differ, and lead to very interesting discussions. Read our guest post covering a previous IndieFlicks night for a sense of what to expect.

The cities

  • Manchester235, 2 Watson St, Manchester M3 4LP: a somewhat interesting choice for the Manchester showing, we'll be in the 235 casino. This is a five minute walk from Deansgate metrolink station or train station, and a fifteen minute walk from Piccadilly Gardens bus station.
  • Sentinel Brewing Co, 178 Shoreham Street, Sheffield, S1 4SQ: Sentinel serves artisan beers fresh from the brewery tank, mere metres away. It is just a short walk from the train station and bus interchange, and on the ring road just a few minutes from Sheffield parkway. Car parking is available on site.
  • Cafe 1001, Brick Lane, London, E1 6QL: most likely the coolest of our venues, this is a cafe/club located in Shoreditch, within the Old Truman Brewery. The nearest tube stations are Aldgate East (District), Shoreditch High Street (Overground) and Liverpool Street (National Rail, Central, Hammersmith & City).

Tickets are £6, and must be booked in advance. Be careful to book for the right location:

Please note that this event always sells out - please make sure you book well in advance to avoid disappointment!

If you get lost

We also always keep a close eye on our Telegram group during all our events, so if you're lost or running late, you can get in touch with us there - and it's a great place to chat with us when we aren't running events, too.
