Young Mensa North continues its record-breaking tour of Manchester with a visit to the Green, with our sizzling songs, dazzling ditties and vivacious vocalisations.
For a given value of "record-breaking", anyway.
The Green, Manchester, 19:00, Saturday 18th August 2018
Following on from last April's outing, described as highly enjoyable - if a little light on the Disney - the boys (and girls) are back in town for another bash at belting out some backing-assisted ballads. Bodaciously.
(I'll arrest my alliteration at some point, promise.)
The venue, The Green, plays host to a booth downstairs, complete with a few thousand songs - if you came along last time, it's the same system as then - and we'll be there for an hour or two longer than last time, so the chances of running out of time before we run out of songs will be slimmer as well.
If you're feeling a little shy, we (or at least I) pledge that if you don't want to sing alone, you can call upon a friendly backup vocalist to join you; if you think that's going to be the case, and you know what you want to perform, then do try to let us know. Unless you think it'd be funnier to be accompanied by someone flailing around cluelessly.
Prices are £10 per person, for up to 20 people, payable either to me on the night, or if you'd rather pay ahead of the event then you can find me at the other end of a Facebook or Telegram message, or shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Green is located a couple of minutes' walk from Manchester Piccadilly Station's concourse - which is naturally your best bet for both train and tram - for buses, you'll probably want to aim for Piccadilly Gardens, which is five to ten minutes' stroll away. If you're in need of feed, or some Dutch courage, then I and possibly others will be appearing in town some time before things kick off, letting the relevant Facebook and Telegram groups know as needed.
If you get lost
If you need help finding us then you can call or text the Phone Robot for directions, or "encouragement": 0144 360 6367
We also always keep a close eye on our Telegram group during all our events, so if you're lost or running late, you can get in touch with us there - and it's a great place to chat with us when we aren't running events, too.
