Pint of Science, 14th - 16th May 2018

A series of events in Sheffield, centered around the university's top science fields, and hosted in pubs and cafes. What could be better?

Three days and five pubs, with different areas of science being covered, from AI use in combatting "fake news" to looking at the human body in all of its glory.

Young Mensa North will be at the following talks:
14th May - Punch Drunk Love, 18:30 at Tamper Seller's Wheel
15th May - Circus For the Senses, 19:00 at Hallamshire House
16th May - Do We Still Have To Do It Like That?, 19:00 at the Millowner's Arms

Tickets are available from the Pint of Science website, and need to be purchased in advance.

Tamper Seller's Wheel, 149 Arundel St, Sheffield, S1 2NU:
This New Zealand style coffee house brings a southern hemisphere twist to the Sheffield cafe scene. They pride themselves on their excellent coffee and top notch food.
A central location, just a short walk from the bus and train stations. If you are driving you could use the NCP on Sidney Street.

Hallamshire House, 49-51 Commonside, Sheffield, S10 1GF:
This is a really welcoming community focused pub, which does a great selection of pies and of course, drinks.
You can get the number 95 bus from the main bus interchange, or if driving you could park on the street outside for free, so long as you arrive after 18:30.

Millowner's Arms, Alma St, Sheffield S3 8RY:
This is within the Kelham Island Museum, in a gallery which celebrates Sheffield’s brewing heritage, from being the biggest brewing city in England to its numerous microbreweries of today.
You can park in the museum's car park. If coming by public transport, it's an easy 25 minute walk from the train station or main bus station, or you can take the tram (Shalesmoor stop on the blue route from the train station, and also the yellow route).
