A quiet afternoon event in Manchester this time, a chance for everyone to catch up in relaxed pub surroundings.
Peveril of the Peak, 15:00, Sunday 5th of June 2016
Peveril of the Peak is a unique looking, classic tiled pub - a striking 1820s listed building, tucked away two minutes' walk behind Deansgate station. It's usually pretty quiet, and also has outdoor seating to enjoy the weather (if it keeps up).* [Map link](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Peveril+Of+The+Peakemail@example.com,-2.2468727,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x487bb1e97f8862db:0x61cebe3d7a19fb56!8m2!3d53.474885!4d-2.244684) * [RSVP on Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/events/517921175075642/) * [Retweet](https://twitter.com/YoungMensaNorth/status/738021437630484480) * [Discuss on Reddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/YoungMensaNorth/comments/4m1nej/afternoon_pub_5th_june_2016/)
Later we can move on to any of the other interesting nearby venues - perhaps the kitsch subterranean Temple of Convenience, or the Briton's Protection which boasts a very well-stocked whisky bar. We'll probably also get a bite to eat, depending on what everyone feels like doing.
How to get there
We'll officially meet at the Peveril of the Peak at 15:00, although a few of us may arrive a little earlier, so feel free to pop along sooner if you're at a loose end in town. Easiest way to get there is by disembarking from Deansgate on the tram and walking round the corner as per the map above, but it's also very close to Oxford Road for the buses, and roughly equidistant between Deansgate and Oxford Road rail stations. There's also parking just on the next corner, if you really insist on driving rather than drinking.
If you're lost, as always, you can call or text the Phone Robot for assistance, directions and encouragement: 0144 360 6367
See you there!
