True Faith at Manchester Art Gallery, 2nd September 2017

A number of Young Mensans have impeccable taste in music, so hopefully lots of you will be interested in joining us at this exhibition dedicated to the works of Joy Division and New Order.

True Faith, Manchester Art Gallery, 14:00, Saturday 2nd September 2017

These bands are among the most iconic of Manchester musicians, and the exhibition focuses on exploring the legacy of the artists through the visual art their works have inspired.

The gallery occupies three buildings; the City Art Gallery in the Greek Ionic style, and the Manchester Athenaeum in the Italian Palazzo style, both of which were designed by Sir Charles Barry in the 19th century, and a controversial modern building which links the two, opened in 2002.

We'll meet for drinks beforehand in the nearby Wetherspoons, The Waterhouse, at 13:00, and then head over to the gallery together.

The gallery is very close to St Peter's Square; have a look at their website for information on how to get there. The Waterhouse is a two minute walk from the gallery.

We will no doubt head to another bar for drinks and food after we have finished the exhibition. Keep an eye on our Facebook group or Telegram group to find out where we are.

If there are any newcomers coming along and you'd like us to keep an eye out for you, then let us know by emailing us at contact@youngmensanorth.com.
